Rob Jones of Nationwide Insurance – Rob Jones Agency will become the new leader for the Dunn Area Chamber of Commerce in 2020. Jones will officially assume the responsibilities of president on Jan. 28 at the chamber’s annual Membership and Awards Banquet when the 2019 president, Renee Jackson, passes the gavel to him.

Jones has been an active member of the Dunn Chamber, serving on the Board of Directors since 1998, as well as serving on several committees including Executive, Education, Business Fest, Ambassador’s Club, Annual Banquet, Governmental Affairs and Nomination Committee. He chaired the second Oyster Roast as president-elect in 2019.

The banquet will be held at the Dunn Shrine Center and tickets are $30 per person. The evening will begin with a social at 6 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a networking dessert and opportunity for attendees to greet and congratulate the evening’s award recipients.

The Ambassador, Business, Small Business, Young Professional, Man and Woman of the Year Awards will be presented during this meeting of the Dunn Chamber’s membership.

New officers for 2020 include: Rodney Stewart of TriStar Insurance Services LLC serving as president-elect; and Bryant Pope of First Federal Bank serving as vice president of Economic Development.

Continuing in their current roles are: Lee Honeycutt of Agent Alliance Group LLC serving as vice president of Membership & Organizational Development; Wesley Johnson of TEcHonfidence serving as vice president of Community Development; Hope Tyndall of Alton R. Gower, Jr., CPA, P.A. serving as vice president of Education; and Matthew Smith of TRP Sumner PLLC serving as vice president of Finance.

Renee Jackson of Jernigan’s will serve the chamber as Immediate past president.

The chamber staff includes Heather Lawson as executive vice president along with Felicia Myers as executive assistant.

Directors whose terms end in 2022 are Emmett Aldredge of Arc3 Gases; Pat Fitzgerald of FB Wealth Management; Douglas Godwin of Elmore Realty & Builders; Edith Mancuso of Moody Dunbar Inc.; Mari-inetta Pavlic of Triangle South Enterprise Center & CCCC Small Business Assistance Center.

Directors whose terms will end in 2021 are Lee Honeycutt of Agent Alliance Group LLC; Wesley Johnson of TEcHonfidence; Matthew Smith of TRP Sumner PLLC; Rodney Stewart of TriStar Insurance; and Hope Tyndall of Alton R. Gower Jr., CPA, PA.

Directors whose terms end in 2020 are Kathy Blackmon of Thomas Drug Store; the Rev. Howard Dudley of First Presbyterian Church; Rob Jones of Nationwide Insurance-Rob Jones Agency; Bryant Pope of First Federal Bank; and Gina Warren of Warren Eye Care.

At Large Board members who will serve a one-year term are Trent Carpenter of First Citizen’s Bank; and Kate Smith of Re/Max One Realty – The April Stephens Team.

Retiring directors whose terms ended in 2019 are Dru Campbell of BB&T, now Truist; Edith Elmore of Elmore Realty & Builders; and Kathy Pope of Nationwide Insurance – Rob Jones Agency.

Ex-officio members include Mayor William Elmore of the City of Dunn; Oscar Harris of the General William Lee Memorial Commission; Somer Johnson of Campbell University; Billy Tart of the Dunn Area Tourism Authority; and Immediate Past President Renee Jackson of Jernigan’s.
