A Dunn woman has become the fifth person to be arrested and charged in the shooting death of Demetrius Monte Johnson, who police say was shot and killed while driving along U.S. Highway 301 near Dunn on May 29. Johnson was 21.

Ashley Rose McDonald, 27, was arrested Sunday and charged with being an accessory after the fact to a first-degree murder. She was being held in the Harnett County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond.

The latest arrest in the case comes nearly four months after Tabies Quamine Holiday, 30, of Erwin was taken into custody by investigators from the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office as the fourth suspect.

Isaiah Shantrel Wilson, 21, of Erwin was taken into custody by members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in early June after Harnett County deputies alerted CMPD officers that Wilson was believed to be in their area. Wilson was arrested at the Woodsprings Suites in Charlotte.

Tony Junior Williams, 28, of Erwin and Travonta Malik Sittle, 20, of Dunn, Wilson and Holiday are accused of following Johnson on Highway 301 before firing fatal shots through the rear window of Johnson’s vehicle on the afternoon of May 29.

Holiday, Wilson, Williams and Sittle each face felony charges of first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle in Johnson’s killing.
