The start of a new year is just the beginning for many who set resolutions and goals to meet before the year is over. Many individuals dream of owning their own business and becoming the entrepreneur they know in their heart to be there. What is stopping you? Create the spark that ignites the flame and builds the fire, leaving new possibilities and adventure. North Carolina is a wonderful place to start a new business, and not just because of our location, but because of our abundance of resources for small businesses.
You have most likely heard of the Small Business Administration, which is a national resource, but have you heard of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN)?
The SBCN is a network of Small Business Centers across North Carolina through our community college system. There are Small Business Centers across the state, which makes it easy for any North Carolina citizen to be in driving distance of a center. Central Carolina Community College has centers in each of the counties we serve — Harnett, Lee and Chatham. Together, we help guide entrepreneurs through the steps of considering, planning, developing, opening, and operating a small business.
You do not have to be enrolled in our college to participate in our services, as they are open to the public free of charge! The Small Business Centers also have partnerships with other business resources across North Carolina and can help navigate each new business through the proper channels to reach business success.
So, still thinking that starting a business in 2020 is out of reach? Take advantage of your resources and see how possible it really can be. Whether it is getting help with a business plan, marketing a small business, or finding financing to expand a small business, the SBCN can help. Check out the services of your local Small Business Center at www.harnettsbc.com.
Upcoming seminars for January include: “How to Start a Home Based Small Business,” “Leadership Skills for Small Businesses” and “Business Tax Essentials.”
