ERWIN — Sandra Pennewill Dennis of 4640 N.C. Highway 55 East, departed this life on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, at Betsy Johnson Hospital, being 51 years of age. She was born on June 1, 1968, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Margaret Jeanette Norris Owens and the late Thomas Jones Pennewill Jr. Sandra loved to travel, whether it be a get away to the mountains or a beach vacation with all the family or cruising to the Bahamas with Rudy, she just loved being on the go! However, the most important thing to Sandra, was family. One of her greatest joys was when all the family and friends gathered at her house on a Friday night or the many cookouts they had at their house on a warm summer Saturday afternoon.
Sandra leaves behind to honor her memory, her mother, Margaret Jeanette Norris Owens of Dunn; husband, Rudy Dennis; children, Ashley Sherman and husband Bobby of Erwin, Donna Smith of Lillington, Derek Dennis and girlfriend Alicia Gellerman of Erwin, and Tyler Dennis of Erwin; sisters, Janet Faircloth and husband Timmy of Erwin, Pat Jackson and husband David of Coats, and Amy Owens of Dunn; brother, Timmy Pennewill and wife Darlene of Dunn; grandchildren, Kolton Sherman, Kaiden Sherman, Kaleb Sherman, Lana Dennis, Haleigh Byrd, Madison Byrd, Shaun Jackson, Ember Houle, MacKenzie Dennis, Conner Dennis and Timothy Dennis; special nephew, Scott Pope and girlfriend Autumn Shavor; special friend, Logan Suggs; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
You are cordially invited to a time of visitation on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, from 6 until 8 in the evening at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home, and other times at the home.
A funeral service to commemorate the life of Sandra Dennis will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Eakes, the Rev. Billy Nowell and the Rev. Marty Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Erwin Memorial Park with Bobby Sherman, Kolton Sherman, David Jackson, Timmy Faircloth, JP Baker and Derek Avery serving as pallbearers.
